“Prima delle prime” series: 20 September, Puccini’s “La bohème”

On Thursday 20 September 2012, from 6pm, in the Arturo Toscanini foyer at La Scala theatre, the eleventh appointment of the “Prima delle prime” series in the 2011/2012 season will be dedicated to La Bohème, the renowed opera written by Giacomo Puccini and first performed in Turin in 1896, conducted by a young Arturo Toscanini.

A lecture titled “Tipi parigini” will be given by Emilio Sala, musicologist and professor at the University of Milan.

Free admission while seats last.

La Bohème will be then performed at La Scala from 26 September to 26 October 2012. The young Daniele Rustioni conducts a cast that includes two great voices, Anna Netrebko and Angela Gheorghiu, as Mimì. The role of Rodolfo is shared by Piotr Beczala and Vittorio Grigolo, with Fabio Capitanucci as Marcello. Staging and sets by Franco Zeffirelli, costumes by Piero Tosi.
