On Wednesday June 20, 2012, from 6pm, in the Arturo Toscanini foyer at La Scala theatre, the tenth appointment of the “Prima delle prime” public talks will be dedicated to Gaetano Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (libretto by Giovanni Ruffini e Gaetano Donizetti).
On this occasion, professor of Melodrama history and Musical philology at the University of Milan Claudio Toscani will give a lecture titled “La convivenza di comico e patetico”, with playings and screenings.
Don Pasquale will be then performed at La Scala from June 30 to July 14 2012, conducted by Enrique Mazzola and staged by Jonathan Miller, with sets and costumes by Isabella Bywater.
